GH Movie Structures has issued a letter to the office of the presidency concerning the opening of movie cinemas. Cinemas were shut down as part of the measures to combat the worldwide pandemic Corona Virus. They want cinemas to be opened now.
The organization wants Cinemas to be opened for moviemakers to screen or premiere movies in the cinemas as the number of active cases has decreased. The organization has also assured the presidency that precautionary measures would be taken. Below is the letter published by the organizations
We write to humbly request for our cinemas to be opened for business (i.e movie screening).
Since the cinemas have been opened for other activities excluding movie screening, we believe it’s the right call for us to prompt the Ghana Government to open our cinemas for us to get back to our work which puts food on our table.
That’s why we as a body and family of movie makers in Ghana have decided to embark on this movement for government to hear our call and cry.
We believe our request will be looked at with positive lens and have our cinemas opened for movie screening.
We as an acting body hope our dearest request will be duly, timely met and granted.
Long live the Ghana Film Industry
Long live Ghana
